About

Hi there! I'm Alexis. I’m a writer, video producer, and director based in sunny Los Angeles, by way of Maryland. My passion is crafting emotionally compelling stories that delight, educate, engage, and build empathy.

A little bit more about me…

I graduated from the University of Maryland, College Park (Go Terps!) with a degree in print journalism.

I’ve shot, produced, and directed two feature documentaries, alongside my husband. The first, The Dream Share Project, screened at over 200+ colleges around the U.S.. The second film, Blood, Sweat, and Beer was acquired by Hulu, screened at 20+ film festivals, and was featured in USA Today, PasteThe Washington Post, The Tampa Tribune, All About Brewing, and on NPR, WBEZ Chicago, and ESPNRadio.

Other personal and professional highlights include the publication of my first non-fiction book, interviewing Steve Kerr and awesome kid athletes, traveling to Bulgaria for American Film Showcase, eating carbonara in Rome, and winning UCLA’S TFT Professional Programs TV Comedy Pilot script contest for my dramedy about the first ever female NFL reporter.

I’ve been a freelance writer, video producer, director, and creative Swiss Army knife since 2012.

In my free time I can be found keeping the Swedish Fish candy factory in business, drinking iced Americanos, and reading romance novels.
